Ana Zoob’s painting on the bear sculpture creates a dream landscape – a fantastical version of Dartford that would allow locals to find recognisable landmarks within an imaginary land of colour, winding staircases and secret tunnels.

She took her colour scheme inspiration from the book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and seeks to capture the feeling of reading the novel as a child – the sense of expansive adventure, curiosity and comfort. 

This painting is an expansion of Zoob’s artistic practice – combining intricately drawn cityscapes with colourful abstract landscapes yet carefully tailored to this project by celebrating the local architecture of Dartford.
