‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ was inspired by strawberry themed things I’ve collected that brighten my day. I’ve always been drawn to them on decor, because it just reminds me of summer and brighter days. The choice of blue came from just wanting to create contrast to the strawberries, and as a checked pattern it made me think of a picnic blanket. This sparked the idea of a picnic, and how an afternoon tea theme would suit the bear really well. A Victoria sponge being a typical cake served with tea, was why I chose to include a strawberry themed tea set and cake, and the placement of everything is meant to suggest that the cake is being eaten as you walk around the bear. I hope it brightens people’s day.
