At the heart of this stunning art trail is ellenor’s Memory Bear, which offers individuals the chance to dedicate a name in memory of someone they love. Each name will become part of the sculpture itself creating a shared space for remembrance within the community.

Make a dedication on the Memory Bear
As part of the Dartford Bear Hunt this summer, we are delighted to introduce you to our new Memory Bear.
This beautiful Bear created by Dartford born illustrator Becky Shepperson, will be on display at our Bluewater hub throughout the trail duration and will move to reside permanently at our hospice after. For a one-off donation of just £35 – which could cover the cost of one counselling session at ellenor – your loved one’s name can be displayed permanently on our Bear in one of several beautiful shapes. By making a dedication on our Memory Bear, you are helping to raise vital funds to support local families facing life limiting illness.

Memory Bear FAQS
We are asking for a one off donation of £35
Only one name can be added to each icon due to space. We ask that this is a first and surname only – for example ‘John Smith’
You will receive a thank you pack, including information about the Bear Hunt and a pin badge. We will also keep track of whereabouts on our Bear your loved one’s name is being placed.
There is no limit, but please note that each dedication will need to be made individually through our online form
The icons we are adding names to are stars, moons, clouds, thought bubbles, butterflies, leaves and flowers
Please note that due to availability of icons and name length our artist will make the decision regarding where your loved one’s name will go. There is a comments box on our payment page if you have a specific request, but please be aware we cannot guarantee we will be able to uphold this request – we will however do our best to do so
The position of the names will be subject to the artist’s design. We unfortunately cannot take requests on name locations, and similarly cannot guarantee that multiple names dedicated to different people will be placed next to each other
Yes! The Memory Bear will move between our merchandise hubs, but most often will be at our Bluewater Hub. You can use the Dartford Bear Hunt app to find out where the Bear is when you come to visit!
Names will be added on a date that is agreed with the artist – they may not be added until over a week after purchase
No, you do not need to have used ellenor’s service or be known to the hospice to make a dedication, the Memory Bear is open to everyone who would like to honour a loved one’s memory.
There is a chance we will use the Bear in future campaigns. By supplying tribute names at the point of donation, the donor agrees to the tribute names being used in promotion photography and footage which can be used at the discretion of ellenor
